Matilda Rena Waters

PINE RIDGE — Matilda Rena Waters, 47, made her journey to the Spirit World on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Matilda Rena Waters was born on December 21, 1970 in Pine Ridge to Kenneth Leroy Catches and Leona Martha Waters.

Matilda is survived by her sons, Ricky Bagola, Sr. and Jonathan Bagola both of Pine Ridge; daughters, Lakita Watkins and Kallea Watkins both of Jackson, Tenn.; brothers, Duane Waters of Polson, Mont. and Terry Good Voice Elk of Pine Ridge; sister, Earlene Long Wolf of Pine Ridge; aunts, Victoria Waters-White Magpie and Gloria Yellow Boy both of Pine Ridge; uncle, Albert Waters of Pine Ridge; ex-husband, Calvin Watkins of Jackson, Tenn.; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

Matilda was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Leroy Catches; mother, Leona Martha Waters; step-father, Earl Long Wolf, Sr.; grandparents, Paul Waters and Rose Red Feather-Waters; and great grandparents, Peter & Amelia Catches, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Clifton Waters, John Waters, Anthony Waters, Ernie Waters, Jr., Kelcey Twiss, Steven White Magpie, Thomas Waters, Tad Clark, Albert Waters, Jr. Charlie Waters, Jr., and Jessie Waters.

A two night wake service started on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Wakpamni CAP Office, with Father Ed Hunt and Rev. Rhoda Mesteth officiating. Traditional Lakota services were held with Mr. Quincy Red Feather. Burial services were at the Holy Cross Episcopal Cemetery in Pine Ridge.
